SCRTC Students Participate in Community Service Project

Last fall, students and instructors from the Truck Driving, Welding, and Building Trades programs came to the aid of the city of Calais by volunteering their time to help out at the Calais Waterfront Walkway. They spent several days working on setting railway ties, and filling and tapping down earth on the sides of the walkway. See below for some pictures of the project.

Early Childhood Education and Learning Center

OPEN HOUSE

On October 28th, 2009, the St. Croix Regional Technical Center held an open house to recognize and thank all those who helped us achieve our goal of constructing a state of the art Early Childhood Education and Learning Center.  The major monetary contributors of the project were: The Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation ($50,000), The Libra Foundation ($25,000), and The Maine Community Foundation ($7,500).

Due to the generosity of these charitable organizations, along with the help and support of those listed below, we were able to make this vision into a reality.

  • Washington County Community College instructors and students

  • Local Calais businesses

  • Calais City Council

  • Calais School Board

  • Union 106 Board of Trustees

  • SCRTC's Building Trades instructor Stan Sluzenski and his students

Below are some photos of the Open House:
