Students from SCRTC have placed in both state and national competitions. Local students have been very successful at the state level, receiving many gold, silver, and bronze medals each year. SkillsUSA Links Leaders, Technical Training

The following is a portion of an article written by State Parlimentarian and SCRTC student Riley Sluzenski. The rest of the article can be read  on the mainepublic.org website or by clicking on this link: http://www.tinyurl.com/zxzk5dd.

There are lots of different organizations, clubs, and teams that students can join in high school. I have participated in many of them, including the volleyball team, academic decathlon team, and student council. However, arguably the most important organization I am a part of is SkillsUSA, a national organization that promotes leadership and holds technical competitions for middle school, high school, and college students.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

The National Technical Honor Society is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. Thousands of schools and colleges throughout the U.S. and its territories have a chapter of the honor society on their campuses. These member schools agree that NTHS encourages higher scholastic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps top students find success in today's highly competitive workplace. Membership in NTHS is an important career and professional investment recognized by education, business, and industry. NTHS awards an increasing number of scholarships each year to its members.

St. Croix Regional Technical Center's NTHS membership requirements are as follows:

1. A current junior or senior
2. Adheres to SCRTC attendance policy (see student handbook)
3. A grade of B+/88 or higher in the CTE program and a B/85 cumulative grade average at the sending school
